Outlook Data File Question

Hi. I have a question I hope everyone can help me with.

I confess to having always been confused about the way Outlook uses data
files and virtual folders. I had to reinstall Windows and Office last
night. I opened my .pst file, which is in a nonstandard location. I now
have two main Outlook folders: "KRussell" and "Outlook Today - [Personal
Folders]".

I synchronize with a Pocket PC. In the past, it's always synchronized with
KRussell. I am finding now, though, that my PPC data has been synchronized
to the Outlook Today folders. KRussell still contains previously
synchronized data.

Can anyone explain what's happening?

Thanks.

You need to set your "KRussell" pst file as the default for mail delivery.
Since you mention Outlook Data File, I can only assume that you are using
Outlook 2002. Your steps would be...

* Tools | E-mail Accounts
* View/Change existing accounts
* Change the dropdown near the bottom left from Personal Folders to KRussel
* OK out and restart Outlook.
* Move whatever data you want from Personal Folders to KRussell
* When finished with the Personal Folders file, right click on it and select
close

I just realized I haven't thanked both of you for your replies.

That was the solution! All is well now....

Thanks very much.
