Outlook CW Remotely

HELP!

I recently upgraded to Exchange 2000 from 5.5, and now
none of my remote users can connect. At the office, where
all of the clients are on the same local network and
belong to the same domain, everything works fine.
However, all users at home, all users at off-site
locations cannot connect. Outlook shows:

Unalbe to open your default e-mail folders. The attempt
to log on to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer has
failed.

I searched support.microsoft.com extensively, and most of
the hits suggest the RPC binding, but I tried everything
and nothing helps.

This used to work with Exchange 5.5. What am I doing
wrong?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
 
How are your remote users connecting to the Exchange server? VPN? Dial-in
modem?
