Outlook crashes on startup

G'Day,
I have several profiles on my Laptop using all the same
exchange server connection. Since yesterday if I wanted to open with one of
the profile, outlook crashes while opening (I guess by trying to create the
'folder-list'). It crashes in online and also in the offline mode.

The event for the crash is:
Source: Microsoft Office 10
Event ID: 1000

Faulting application outlook.exe, version 10.0.4510.0, faulting module
outllib.dll, version 10.0.4712.0, fault address 0x0003aece.

All other profiles are working correct with this laptop.
Deleting the bad profile and creating new does not fix the problem. Also
connecting with the profile from another computer does not work. Same error.
Uninstall outlook installing new does not help. Deleting several files
(outllib.dll, outllibr.dll) and all other workarounds I could find in the MS
knowledge base are not working. What else can I do?

You are my last chance....any idea????

TIA
René

Since this problem isn't limited to one PC and you've taken about evey
troubleshooting step already (except starting Outlook in safe mode?) it is
very likely that Outlook isn't your problem but the mailbox. On the Exchange
server do an exmerge to export the mailbox to a pst-file and then recreate
the mailbox. See if it works now and then import the data back into it and
see if it continues to work. If it doesn't work anymore after the import
you'll have to go through a long process of finding the item that is causing
the problem.

Hi Roady

Outlook cannot start also in safe mode.
I found a funny way to open the mailbox: Connecting with a slow modem (56kb)
in online mode. Strange????
And I found that the crash must have to do with the folder list because the
program crashes while tryi´ng to create the folder list.
You may have another hint
Thanks René

You can rebuild the folderlist with Outlook XP by starting it with
/resetfoldernames

and/or

/resetfolders

I don't think it will help though as it just recreates missing folders and
renames the folders to the language of the Outlook client.

I would say recreating the mailbox is the best and eassiest way to go from
here.

Hi Roady,

I tried the command two times:

- offline with /resetfolders - no success
- online (but slow 56kb modem connection) with /resetfolders - SUCCESS!

Thanks very much for helping!!!
