My client has installed WinXP Pro and is continuing to
use Office 97. The body text of 60 to 80% of the emails
received are coming as txt attachments. Both the OS &
Office are standard installs. Office SR1 & SR2 have been
applied. All patches have been applied to Win XP.

How can I correct this?

Thanks

Greg

does it happen to some mail all of the time or all of the mail some of the
time? There is a known issue that mail is converted to plain text
attachments when outlook's been open a long time. Closing outlook and
reopening it helps.

Hello Diane

Thank you for your response.

My client was using Win 98SE and Office 97 without issue. They
upgraded to Win XP Pro and Office 97 and the Outlook issue began. The
attached txt is happening to most of the incoming messages all of the
time. While a couple of stations are getting the text attachment and
no body text, some of the stations are getting both unformatted body
text and the formatted txt attachment. Shutting down Outlook and
rebooting does not help this issue so I would venture to say that it
is not issue that mail is converted to plain text attachments when
outlook's been open a long time.

I have checked many newsgroups and found a number of people with the
same and similar actions but other than shutting down and rebooting,
there has been no fix identified.

Any help would be appreciated.
