I am running Vista Business and outlook 2000 professional. I have installed
the program and all is working except: everytime I turn on my computer and
open outlook for the first time I have to go through the setup. I clike on
that I have version on my computer, agree to the agreement and then putlook
comes up with all of my e-mails. Some one please tell me what I need to do
to fix this problem. I have set up office many times before and I have never
run into this problem before.

Haake,
1. Vista prefers MS Office 2003 or 2007.
2. Also you need to make sure that you log on using a User Account that has
Administrator priviledges. so that you can accept the EULA agreement.
3. You will probably not like the idea that Outlook versions older than
Outlook2003, do not retain passwords for email accts. You will need to type
them in every time you open Outlook, when the accounts first check for new
messages.

A couple of questions: I am the administrator on this computer and the only
user account. Is this what you are talking about in #2? I do not have to
enter my password just go through the basic set up. Any other ideas beside
spending alot of money to buy office 2003 or 2007?.

Thanks

Jeff

Haake,
1. Take a look at the following MS Knowledge Base Article:
"You must accept the Office End User License Agreement every time that you
start an Office program"

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=884202

2. You might have a corrupted MS Outlook installation.
You may need to reinstall Outlook. First find all the *.PST files for your
profile. Make a copy of them and place them into you have created, on a
different location of your hardrive, that you can easily find, or backup
location.
Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs> Uninstall just Outlook Program, you
should not have to remove other Office Programs> Reboot PC> With Office 2000
CD's reinstall MS Outlook> Reboot PC> Run Outlook> Accept Eula Agreement.

The new installation of Outlook may find the *.PST files, from the previous
installtion. If not, you can open the backup copy of the *.PST through
Outlook, and move messages to the new instance of Outlook.

3. Here is a website explaining some problems that have been reported by
using earlier versions of Outlook on a PC running Vista.
