Hello everyone, I hope someone out there can help me. In
Outlook XP when you create a new e-mail and go to the
address book (contacts in outlook) say for example there
is a contact named Bill Smith. There will be two entries
for Bill, one contact will be his e-mail address and the
second will the his actual e-mail address. Now it would
seem to me that if you were creating a new e-mail there
would only be e-mail contacts but this is not the case. Is
there a way to only show e-mail contacts? Thanks for any
info you can shed on this!

Explain the difference between "e-mail address" and "actual e-mail address."

LOL, would have really helped if I typed that right! As I
was trying to say there will be two contacts, the first
one if you click on it and put it into the "to" area you
will see is the e-mail address. The second one if you
click on it so you can see what it is will be his fax
info. Is there an option to only show e-mail addresses? By
the way thanks for such a fast response!!!

The standard behavior for the Outlook Address book is to display all
electronic addresses (both fax and e-mail). That behavior cannot be changed.
The only way to prevent the display of fax numbers is to store them in a
different field or to disguise them (e.g., precede them with an alpha
character) so that Outlook won't recognize them as phone numbers.
There are also a number of utilities available that can do this for you
automatically. Some are listed here:
