Outlook "contacts" vs. Outlook Express "Address Book"

When I retired, I lost my office computer. However, I
cleverly copied my Outlook contacts onto a floppy.
However, on my home computer with Microsoft Works Suite
and Outlook Express, I haven't got a program to open
my "contacts" file. Do I have to purchase and
install "Outlook"?

That would depend entirely on how cleverly you copied your Contacts.
Why don't you tell us?

At work, I dragged the Contacts file onto the floppy.
Then I closed Outlook. When I double clicked on
the "Contacts.OAB" icon on the floppy, my Contacts file
opened just as if I were working in "Outlook".

However,when I brought the floppy home to open in my new
computer, none of the programs offered seems to work when
I try to import my old Contacts.OAB file.

OAB is an exchange server offline address book. You can't connect to it with
OE or OL, you'll need access to the exchange server. The proper way to copy
an oab would be to create contacts and move a pst.
