outlook contacts uneditable

P

In Outlook, when I click on a contact, the "opened" contact minimizes and is
not editable. There is no error message, and this just started happening for
sme reason.
What can I do to regain functionality?
Thanks,
Peter

Hard to say without any information to work with.
You might want to start with sharing some information like your Outlook
version and type of contact.
Also, when did it last work and what changed/were you doing in between that?

Does it work correctly in Outlook Safe Mode?
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe

If so, it usually is caused by an addin.

Outlook version is 2007. Plus, I have my iPhone syncing with Outlook.

Type of contact? Don't understand what you mean by type. It is a contact I
created in the main group. All of my contacts are uneditable. They just
minimize when I click on them.

I had to trash an infected computer, then set up the external disk data
files with another computer. I had some trouble because previously installed
Outlook was looking at a non-existent disk for its data. Had to create a new
data file, remove profiles, then move data into new file. Outlook still
wouldn't boot right. So had to rename disks because Outlook was still looking
at a non-existent disk for the data. Then moved files, renamed disks back to
original, and it was working. Except for the contacts.

It does seem to work in Safe mode. The contacts appear maximized.

So which Add-In do you think is doing this? Should I just eliminate them
one-by-one to see if that is the one?

Type of contact?
Sorry, I meant; type of mail account.

I don't know which ones are installed on your computer ;-)

Better is to go the other way around; disable them all and enable them one
by one.

See the link I gave you on how to do this.

Mail Account? - you mean Pop? or Personal Folders File?

OK, I eliminated them all, but I am still experiencing the same problem.
