I am running OutLook 2002.

I want to transfer the contacts address book to a new
computer that I am purchasing.

I have configured my computer to show hidden files and
folders.

I have done a search for *.pab and *.pst files but nothing
is found.

Where will I find my Address book?
How can I transfer it to my new computer?

Thanks
Dermot Hayes

Look again. Outlook cannot function without a PST file unless you are
running against Exchange Server. Are you?

I found two items under:-
C:\documentsand settings\dermot
hayes\localsettings\application data\ microsoft\ outlook\

They are as folows:-
Outlook
Office Database File
and
Mailbox
Office Data File

but i do not know which is the address book.

I am also confused about the contacts.....is address book
and contacts the same thing? I thought they were but now
I'm not sure?
Please advise
Thanks Dermot

I posted a response that provides a link that answers all of these
questions. Please read the response to your other post. All Outlook data is
contained in a single file. There is no Address book. All Contact data is in
the Contacts Folder.

Hi Russ,
I read the information you suggested in the other
posts....I can't find a .pst or .pab file.....yet I have
contacts.
I am confused....I did a search for both file type with
hidden files and folder to be seen,,,,and nothing came
up....I don't think it can be in a server because the
contacts are availible when I am off line...
How would I determine if they are in a server.
Sorry to bother you but I am keen to find out how to
transfer them.
Thanks
