I moved my outlook to another machine. everything seems to
be ok, but when i send a new mail and i click "to" to pull
up an address, they don't show up. it seems that some old
ones come up from the old outlook install that was on this
machine or something. what is weird is if i click the
contact icon in the main pain under outlook
today "personal folders", they all show up there in the
right side. i have two pst files configured, archive and
then the one under "outlook today" that says personal
folders if this matters. I don't even see contacts in the
archive pst though. it seems like "address book" is not
the same as "contacts"? how do i get my contacts to be
used for the address book for sending mail? thanks.

U need to install the Outlook address book, then you
should be able to see your contacts.

On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
Under Directory, click Add a new directory or address
book, and then click Next.
To add the type of address book you want, do one of the
following:

Click Additional address books.
choose the Outlook Address book
then click Finish
Note: You need to close outlook and re-open before
changes take effect

thanks, this worked pefect :-)

You failed to post either your Outlook version or the steps you took to
disconnect your Outlook Address Book from your Contacts Folder.
Read this information so you can figure this out for yourself:
