Outlook contacts not synchronizing with iPAQ

I have an iPAQ 1955 with recently replaced motherboard. Calendar and Tasks
synchronize and appear on the iPAQ. Activsync shows contacts have
synchronized but they do not appear in the iPAQ. Have performed a hard reset
of iPAQ, plus deleted and re-installed Activsync. No success. HP says if it
syncs anything it is a software issue not the hardware, so no help there. I
am using Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager. I would greatly
appreciate any suggestions.

You are prob syncing to outlook contacts, which is (obviously) completlyt
differnt from the bcm contacts. 2 different databases, no syncing between
them . Goog luck
 
If you are using BCM, maybe your contacts are in the BCM?

ipaq will not sync any BCM contacts, they have to be in the contacts folder
of Outlook.

Activesync will says "syncing contacts" even if there are 0.

Try putting one contact in OL (or a new one in) and see if it works, then go
from there ..
