I have a client who has Outlook 2003. I created a new profile and had to
import the contact list - when adding a new contact is puts the new contact
into the old contact list and not the one. How can I either sync these up or
point Outlook to look into the new contact list?

Why would you import Outlook data? This is Outlook data, right? Just open
the data file and either reuse it or copy what you need from it and put it
where you want it.

I guess I may not have made the issue 100 percent clear. Here's the thing -
When I created the new profile you could see the contact list in the "Mail
folders view" and it had numerous names and such in it - If I right clicked
the Contacts box and went to propties it would show the location as \\mailbox
- client name.

But if you tried to send an email and looked into the contact list it was
was empty. This is why I initially imported the contact list into the new
profile. Then in the folder view it showed 2 contact lists. The contact
list then was vewiable when trying to find a new in the list if sending a new
email. But when adding a new conact it would go to the original contact list
and not the newer one.

I have since switched back to the old profile.

So do you still have a question here or do you need me to explain all the
things you did wrong? There was never any need to import Contacts and there
never is. All you needed to do was enable the existing Contacts Folder as an
email address book and then delete the old invalid reference to the previous
Contacts Folder from the Outlook Address Book.

Nope - no question
