In Outlook, you can use the Import and Export Wizard as
the interface for Address Book conversion. Use the
following steps to convert a Windows Address Book (WAB)
file:
Start Outlook.
On the File menu, click Import and Export.
Click Import Internet Mail and Addresses, and then click
Next.
Click Outlook Express 4.x, 5 from the list.
Select any combination of the Mail or Addresses from the
items listed.NOTE: With the exception of rules conversion
from Outlook Express, the steps to convert addresses are
the same.

Click Next.
Select a destination for the imported address data.
Select the appropriate duplicate items option, and then
click Finish.
NOTE: This procedure does not import contacts that are
contained in subfolders

Wrong. Do not do this. There is absolutely no reason to export and
especially not to change file formats. That's a good way to lose or corrupt
data.

Simply copy and reuse the same Outlook Data File in your new computer. The
file you need is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the mail,
calendar, contacts etc are stored.

Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup:

The best and easy method is to do an export to a [.cvs] file. it can also be used as a backup too
Goto File | Import and Export | Export to a file | comma separarted values (Windows

Make sure that you keep tract of the Folder\File name. [C:\My Documents\Outlook\contacts.csv
