How would I know that how many contacts are in a specific Outlook
address-group?

in Outlook Express, the group properties would show how many contacts I had
in a specified group, in Outllok I cannot find such info.

I have some big numbers of contacts in several groups so counting them would
not help.

Assuming you actually mean a Distribution List (Outlook as nothing called
"group"), look in the Status bar unless you are using Outlook 2007.
Never post a question without posting your version.

What do you mean by Address GROUP?
Outlook uses either Distribution Lists or Categories.

Unfortunately, an open DL window doesn't have a status bar in OL 2003.

Mine do. It's Outlook 2007 where there is no status bar--when they added the
Ribbon to the form.

Yikes. I just dusted off an ancient installation of Outlook 2003, and now
those DL's don't have status bars either. Apparently the concerted efforts
to make DL's even more useless started earlier.

excuse my ignorance, that was my very first post in such forum. let me
re-phrase my post:
"How would to know that how many contacts are in a specific Distribution
List of Outlook 2003?"

You count them. Manually. Start at the top. Count out loud. End at the
bottom. That's the best Microsoft can do.
