Hi,
If I'm sharing another person's contacts folder in Outlook 2007 and I have
Editor permissions from their delegates screen, how can I get the ability to
add categories to any new contacts I add?

Currently I can add and edit contacts to that shared contact list, but can't
add "new" categories for any contacts. The categories menu simply shows the
colors, ie "Blue" but the options (new, rename, delete) are grayed out.

In addition to Diane, more comfortable is a tool with that you can share
categories. Please see Category Manager, link in my signature.

Thanks Diane,

If we're both on Outlook 2007, how do I upgrade to color contacts?

His contacts were imported from Outlook2003. I upgraded from Outlook 2000.

Thanks again,
Ted

Its not supported but you can create the item in your folder and drag it to
their folder. The owner will need to upgrade to color categories to add it
to the master list.

Right click the top folder (Mailbox - name), choose Properties, then click
'Upgrade to Color Categories'.

I have a problem in the contacts. My contacts resynch to the iPAQ but when establish multiple groups in my contacts folder they won't resynch. Why not???

You might ask that in a group for the sync software you're using.
