Has anyone seen the issue where an Outlook Contact and an Outlook
Calendar folder is created in each new folder?

You should probably explain what you mean. No one can tell. Don't be afraid
to include relevant details when you do. Don't make us guess at things.

There isn't much detail than that. Whenever I create a new folder,
two folders(outlook contact and outlook calendar) are automatically
created within that folder. Does that help?

Not at all. We don't know your Outlook version. We don't know what
information store you are using. We don't know what you are actually doing
or what steps you are using. Don't forget that this is a newsgroup. We
aren't watching what you are doing. You have to tell us. We can't even tell
if you are creating a new Folder or a new File.

OK. Using Outlook 2003 only configured for POP and SMTP. The folders
I am referring are not Outlook folders, rather folders in Windows
Explorer. For example, if I create a folder called Test on my
desktop, an outlook contact and outlook calendar folders are
automatically created within the Test folder. Those folders are
empty. Additionally, I have Biz Contact Manger installed but not
enabled.

Fascinating. How could anyone have guessed that?
Never seen it.
No idea.

Diane,

Thank you for the reply. I have the following add-ins:

McAfee VirusScan Outlook Email Scanner
Google Search
McAfee SpamKiller
McAfee SpamKiller Exchange Extension (Possible culprit since I am not
using Exchange)
Exchange Extensions Property Pages (Same as last line item)
Fax Server Extension

Any of these look suspicious?

Thanks again.

I'm using Outlook 2007 and am having the same problem. This is a new laptop
(less than 1 week old) with no add-ins.

I'm using Outlook 2003 (11.8118.8107 SP2) and am having the same problem.
This is a new laptop with no add-ins. The two empty folders (Outlook Contact
and Outlook Calendar) are created (not always) when I execute “saves asâ€
command to store html version of a Outlook message. The two folder are
stored in the same directory of the "saves as" command. any idea ?

Perhaps I have found the cause of the problem on the PC (could be the same
one or analogous for the other problems). In my DELL PC was pre-installed
DELL MEDIA DIRECT (Dolby Laboratories). Every time that opened Outlook came
made a refresh of the outlook contacts in "c:\MDT\MediaDirect\outlook
contact\dcm.ct". Moreover for every "save as" of a outlook message, in the
folder where it was saved the message came created the two directories. After
uninstalled DELL MEDIA DIRECT the problem has been resolved. I hope this is
useful in order to resolve also your problem. Regards
dcm
