I just got MSN Premium through my new ISP. The
installation tried to add an "Outlook Connector for MSN"
to my Outlook 2002 SP-2. However, any attempts to log in
to MSN via Outlook fail and say to check the spelling of
the email address and password. I'm never able to get
access to MSN/Hotmail this way. I can log in to MSN with
my Passport from a web browser with no problems.

Any suggestions?

I should also add that the account for MSN has an
annoying habit of resetting itself to be the Default
account every time I open Outlook.

Deleting the MSN connector that was installed by MSN
Premium and creating a new one seems to get past the
login problem, but is not able to send out mail.
Says there's a problem with the network connection, even
though everything else works, including email with my
other accounts.

It is not possible to edit the MSN Connector account,
other than the name, email address, and password.

FWIW, I am using WordMail per-account signatures to limit the impact of this
annoyance. My default MSN signature says DO YOU REALLY WANT TO SEND WITH
THIS ACCOUNT?

You might try creating a new profile.
