I have legal accounting software, with a connection to
Outlook. Lately, they cannot connect, and the message
is "Could not access PCLaw's lawyer(by ID) 0's
information. File may be locked by another user." It
seems that Outlook is not allowing access to this
program, although it did until about a week ago.
The Connection Manager for this program (PCLaw) always
freezes (fails to respond) midway through syncing, and I
have to use the Task Manager to end it. After that,
Microsoft Outlook doesn't open unless I go to Task
Manager under Processes, click on 2 or 3 "outlook.exe"
lines, and end those processes. Then, Outlook starts up
on its own, in safe mode.
This is causing major difficulties with my accounting,
contact information, timekeeping and scheduling. I have
been at my office until 2:00 a.m. most days trying to fix
it, and have tries disabling antivirus software, re-
installing Outlook, loading service packs, and just about
everything else.
My questions are, 1. What is happening, and how can I fix
it? and 2. How can I get disable or get rid of
this "Windows Security" program, which is causing nothing
but problems?
On another topic, every time I sign in with MSN Passport,
I have to reset my password. This is aggravating.
