We have been using a dial-up (broadband) connection for e-mail connection and
Internet browsing for some time. Now we have installed a wireless router and
use this for Internet access - works fine. But Outlook still tries to
connect via the broadband modem - and fails since it is no longer connected.
I have to change the "send/receive" settings every time I open Outlook to
force it to use the LAN. But these settings are not saved - on the next
start-up, the setting has reverted to use the modem.

How can I force the LAN setting to "stick"?

We have an XP laptop with Outlook 2003 installed.

hello. if you go to tools, options, email accounts, view/change email
accounts, then advanced, then connection tab on the Internet email settings,
then connect using LAN, that should foce it to use the LAN setting (wireless)
that your browser is using. That should fix the problem.

As well in your network connections see if the old diale is ther if so
remove it

"Bother," said Pooh as he struggled with the computer.

"It never does quite what I want."

"I wish Christopher Robin were here."
