I just upgraded from Outlook XP to 2003. XP was configured for an Exchange
server (my company) as well as for my POP email. I no longer need my company
exchange server and deleted this. I can receive all my POP email, I can see
all my personal folders, I can forward and replay to eMail. However, I
cannot OPEN any email either when it comes in or from my personal folders. I
get an error message and the program closes. I have uninstalled and
reinstalled, I have made the Datafiles to fit Outlook 97, I just can't get
this to work!!!

HI kgg,
which error messsage do you get?

A window just came up saying the program had to close . . . . or in some
instances it just kept trying and then when I check my task manager - Outlook
was not responding. However, I managed to get it up and working by setting
up a new profile and reconfiguring all my POP email addresses. This got the
program to work, but I lost all my inbox and archive folders from the earlier
version. I was able to search for .pst files and one at a time opened all my
old personal folders as new data files. I repopulated all my
contacts/calendars with my PDA. Not an elegant solution, but one that worked.
