.... many of the addresses I paste into the address text box.

I'm frequently copying addresses from web sites, and they're often all on one line, or in some other format which Outlook does not appreciate. This leaves me to manually break the address into lines. Since I do not know what formats Outlook is willing to deal with, I wind up doing this several times until I get it "right".

I would like to know which address formats are acceptable to Outlook. I would also like to know where in the documentation this information is located, and how I should have located it in the documentation. I had no luck searching for "entering addresses" or "business address", but perhaps I should have taken some other path.

You mean street addresses? Outlook expects a standard mailing address format
for the particular country. In the U.S., that would be

1234 Street
City, State Zip

Yes, I meant street addresses.

Too bad the Internet sites I'm visiting don't have a standard mailing
address format.
