I have installed Office XP Pro on a new computer. All the programs work
except Outlook. When I try to open it, I get this error message:

"Unable to start processing services. Could not open the item. Try again."

Try again, and the same message comes up.

I also notice that the icons for Inbox, Calendar, etc. are not available in
left hand pane.

Finally, if I click on the button to start a new message, I get the
following message back:

"Cannot create the email message because a data file to send and receive
messages couldnot be found. To add a data file, such as a personal folders
file, double-click the Mail icon in the Wondows Control Panel."

I created such a file, and it did not solve the problem.

Also, I uninstalled and reinstalled everything, all to no avail. Help!!

The error message told you what to do.
What did you do intead?
You must configure Outlook with a data file.

You have Windows XP? If so did you also install SP2 on your pc? Sometimes
that might clear it up...
