Outlook can't find Default folders

I installed Office XP yesterday, previously using Office 2000. Everything worked fine. This morning, Outlook would not open the default folders, and I got a message that said "The .DLL file for the information service could not be found. MAPI was unable to load the information service PSTPRX.DLL. Be sure the service is correctly installed.
I tried System Restore, but no matter what restore points I used, it came back "Restore Unsuccessful." I tried Restore in safe mode, again receiving the "unable to restore" message.
The PSTPRX.DLL file exists. I found it on a search of the C: drive. I don't know what MAPI is
Any ideas on how to fix this
