Hi there,

I wonder if someone can help me out with this problem!!\

I got a Win2K machine running Office 2000 on a NT4
Network. When the client opens outlook he gets the "Your
Microsoft Exchange Server is Unavailable". This is the
only person on-site who cannot connect. I can ping the
exchange server from the PC, I can connect to all network
shares except for getting emails.

THe client recently upgraded the machine - new
motherboards, cpu and memory.

If anyone has any ideas on how to resolve this please
help!!!!

I am desperate and my call is now out of SLA!!

Have you/user tried uninstalling/reinstalling the network components on the
machine in question?

I have re-installed OFFICE 2000, uninstalled and re-
installed the network components and I have removed it
and re-added it to the domain!!!! Still no help!

Hi there, if this becomes a duplicate message, bear with
me. We're having some exchange problems ourselves.

1. Does your user have a STATIC ASSIGNED IP ADDRESS. If
they do, change them back to DHCP in Net. Neigh. Get them
to reboot.

2. Have you tried releasing their IP address from their
machine? If not, do this right away and make sure correct
adaptor is selected.

3. Do your users have network host names like ABC123

cut your losses and reinstall the operating system. if the user upgraded
the motherboard you are going to run into weird issues since the chipsets
probably changed between the old and new. (if the user installed win2k
ontop of itself after this upgrade, don't forget to reapply all service
packs and patches. odds are the user has a mismatched dll dealing with rpc
connectivity.)
