Outlook Calendars Syncing Appointments

I have two outlook calendars, one personal and another for conference
meetings. The problem is when I am adding appointments to my personal
calendar there automatically going into my conference calendar, I want these
calendars to be separate, so that the appointments I set only get placed into
the calendar it relates too.
 
Assuming its two calendars and not one calendar, two views, are you in the
personal calendar when you create the event? If no, it goes into the open
calendar or the default calendar, depending where you are when you create
it.
