Outlook Calendar: The present day should stand out more. Perhaps you could
highlight the present date with a full bar of a different color.

In which view and what version of Outlook? On mine, Outlook 2003, the title
or number of the day is a different color than the other days in all of the
Day/Week/Month views I checked.

I have Outlook 2003 (11.6568.6568) SP2. here is a very thin line of blue,
with the day colored blue. I think a full bar of color, or even the whole
day could be a different color. Mostly just want it to stand out better.

You still didn't say what view you're using. My calendar shows the area
containing the date as being orange, with the remainer of the month (or
week) being yellow (the background color selected on Tools>Options>Calendar
Options). I switched the background to a blue and the current day still
shows orange in the date area.

I have the 31 day view, showing the 7 day work week (weekends are not
split). I use the orange bar for important events; however, I cannot figure
out how to have the current day of the month highlighted with any color other
than the thin blue line. Actually, I think there must be a way to do what I
want, but I've tried everything, and I can't figure it out. I could mark my
important events with another color, and use orange as the bar for the
current day, which stands out very well. Can anyone tell me how to do this,
and have it automatically appear as the day changes? Brian, thanks for your
response.

I am having the same problem as listed here. I want more highlight for the
current day than the hardly noticeable blue bar but haven't found a way to do
it either. Has anyone come up with a solution?

Diane, I'm not sure how to "Agree" or "Disagree", because it appears that you
are using the Forum for advertising, which tends to confuse me, because you
are drifting from the original issue.

If I understand you correctly, you are stating "It's not possible" to make
the current date "stand out", or make it more readily visible, when we view
the "Calendar"; however, you don't seem to be taking a stand, as to whether
or not this feature should be included in a future up-date.

She's not "drifting" at all. The poster "Petems" posted a reply as a new
thread not attached to the original. Petems asked if it was possible.
Diane answered "not possible". Petems didn't make a suggestion, so there's
no way to "agree" or "disagree".

He didn't ask my opinion only asked if he could. While its an often
requested feature, it won't be in Outlook 2003 or older. updates for those
versions are bug fixes only now that we're at SP2. Its not expected to be
in the next version either.

Diane,

I apologize for my prior post regarding advertising; I didn't realize you
were with Microsoft (big screw-up). Regarding "Agree/Disagree": I meant I
didn't know how to vote for this suggestion.

I have little experience with the Forum, but I think I am learning quickly!

you *could* choose helpful, but since its not a suggestion, it probably
won't be counted as a feature request.

Thanks for the answer to my question. It will save me a lot of time spent in
a futile search! I must admit when I saw so many replies in the thread I was
excited but ......well it was educational LOL

Diane,

The whole thread really was helpful, and you were too! Can't help but laugh
a little, because it started out as a suggestion. Can we turn it back into a
suggestion? (just kidding).

Thanks for your patience!

I clicked "I Agree" so that this problem, (yes, problem), is addressed.

Perhaps others who are visually challenged (anyone else over 50?), would
agree that the current day can hardly be seen in the month view. In fact, I
can only see the slightly shaded greyish bar if I already know what day to
look for.

There needs to be a much better option to highlight the current day in
calendar view. Perhaps an orange frame, anything, but I cannot ever find the
current day via the current highlighting.

Could ADA apply? Microsoft has been a leader by including accessible
technology for their interfaces. But this Outlook 2003 current day
hightlighting is terrible. Do I sound upset? Well, yeah. I paid a lot for
Office 2003 Professional and I would expect that my most used application, my
most necessary application for daily business would help me, and this one
sore point really disables me.

Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now. I'm glad that I upgraded my Office 2000
to 2003. There are several features and advantages that I'm happy to have.

But please, please help me find the current day on my calendar!

Thanks sincerely,
Edro
