We are running Outlook 2000 and we have Exchange 5.5 as the e-mail server.

When someone creates a "Meeting Request" with another person (who has a
laptop and "Personal Folders) the meeting shows up on their calendar in
"Personal Folders" and not on the server. Is there a way to have it show up
in BOTH places? The laptop user needs to be able to see their calendar when
they are on the road. However, other people need to be able to check the
laptop user's availability on the server. The availability will show blue
for "Busy" but if you use "Open User's Folder..." to open their calendar to
see their appointments you will see that the calendar is empty!

It there a way to keep the "Personal Folder" calendar and the server
calendar in sync? Thanks for any and all help.

You should set up Outlook to use offline folders and leave everything on the
Exchange server. When they're in the office, they work online. When they
shut down Outlook, it synchronizes the server and an "Offline Folders File"
on their laptop. When they start Outlook, then can specify to work offline.
They'll see everything just like they're on line.

Hey Brian,

Thanks for the reply. However, I just need to know do I set "Outlook" to
use "Offline Folders" or just the "Calendar" to use "Offline Folders"?

Tools>E-mail Accounts>View or change existing e-mail accounts>Next.
Highlight the Exchange server account. Click Change, then "More Settings",
then the "Advanced" tab. Click "Offline Folder File Settings". Click OK.
Click "Next", then "Finish".

Next, click Tools>Options>Send/Receive. Highlight your send/receive group,
if it's not already, and click "Edit". Hightlight the Exchange server
account and check the "Download offline address book" box and, perhaps, the
"Synchronize forms" box (I have mine checked). Click OK, the Close, then
OK. Finally, click Tools>Send/Receive>Send/Receive All. Outlook should
then be set up to automatically synchronize when it exists.
