outlook calendar out of memory error message

Every time I try to add a new appointment I get an error message that reads
"out of memory or system resources. Close some windows or programs and try
again". Although, no windows or programs are open and this is the only
program where I recieve this message.
 
Checkto make sure you have enough hard-drive space on system if yes then you
may be low on virtual memory
