I just installed the backup addin for outlook, on two machines running Win
XP and using Office 2002. When I try to use it, on either computer, I get
the following message:

"Cannot copy outlook: the process cannot access the file because another
process has locked a portion of the file."

Any suggestions?

Peter

Yeah don't use this!!!!!

Just find where the file is located (from the folder list right click on outlook today/personal folders, choose properties and click on the advanced button. this will give you the path where the pst is located) GO to the pst and right click and choose copy then paste it into a folder. You have now just made a backup copy!

....of your PST file, but not your rules.

That depends on the Outlook version. Outlook 2002 and later save the rules
in the .PST file.

Look here for all the information you need on backup and restoration of
Outlook data:
