outlook attachments

Outlook has taken to deleting some attachments without
warning - it goes so far as deleting some attachments
even word documents, but not some other attachments.

I'm using outlook 2000 on windows 2000 and can't see an
obvious way to fix this is tools, options, security.

Am i missing how best to fix this to allow more
attachments?

Hopefully you meant to say blocking access to and not deleting. See
