I was told by my ISP that when sending attachments with
outlook, if the email format is "Rich Text" then the
attachments may not go through. The said I have to send
the message in either HTML od Plain Text. They also said
it was an Outlook issue.

If this is an outlook issue, is there a fix for this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Phil,
I have a few users that cannot recieve attachments. they get an "object not
found" message, but I can open the attachment just fine. its frustrating,
but I am starting to see this more and more.

It's only an "Outlook" issue if the recipient is using an Email client other
than Outlook or outlook Express - only those can "see" RTF mail.

Outlook Express cannot see RTF mail. I have heard that Eudora can, but I
don't know for sure. The only program I know for sure can receive Rich Text
format mail is Outlook.

That's interesting - I was informed in another group the OE CAN see RTF! oh
well, I only use it for news!

Thanks for responding,

Are there any issues with the HTML or Plain Text Formats?

Thanks again.

Not that I'm aware of, but don't quote me on that! ;-)

If you look at the formatting options in OE you'll see there are two --
"Plain Text" and "Rich Text (HTML)". I think the term Rich Text is being
used for something completely different in OE than Outlook's Rich Text
formatting. But judging from all the posts saying OE users aren't getting
attachments sent from Outlook, I think it's safe to say OE does not support
Outlook's RT format.

Some mail clients may not be able to handle HTML -- Outlook 97, for example.
Also, some people just plain hate HTML formatting in e-mail.
