I want to make Outlook 2003 as my default e-mail program in Vista (instead
of Windows Mail). Does anyone know how I can do this?

Control Panel > Default Programs > Set Program Access and Computer Defaults

note. You may have to reboot to make it stick

Installing Outlook should make it the default. Also, the first time
you use it, it should ask if you want to make it the default.
If not, have you tried Default Programs?

I'm confused. I have been told 2 stories: 1) that with Vista Word 2003 and Outlook won't function. 2) that it will work.

Anyone out there know for a fact? I'd love not to have to buy a new Word
program.

Both Word 2003 & Outlook 2003 work fine for me, too. I'm afraid that
Windows Mail is not yet ready for prime time.
