OUTLOOK and GMAIL

I configured my gmail account with outlook. On doing this I could so far down
load my enail but I can not send or reply email from my outlook. I have
checked my SMTP port with appropriate port no 465 but the problem still
persist.....any clue?
 
only to recheck your settings. Outgoing gmail works fine with Outlook for
me. You might not have SMTP authentication on.
