I verified the DNS/WINS settings were the same as another
clinet on the network. Intenet Explorer or Outlook are not
set to work online. I can also ping the server from the
client. Any other suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Terry

Did you double check the network configuration to make
sure that it is
pointing to the same DNS/WINS servers as the other
machines?

One other possibility is to check and see if Internet
Explorer is set to
work offline. Maybe something is throwing the setup off
where it thinks
there is no network connection.

I am using Small Business Server 2003 and have only one
user on my network
that gets the error:
The connection to Microsoft Exchange Server is
unavailable. Outlook must
be online or connected to
complete this action. I m trying to create this users
default exchange
mail account. I am right clicking on the
desktop icon - properties - putting in the location of
the server - her ID
and choose select and get this error. Her
ID can access mapped drives to the server. I can access
the users mail on
another client. I also tried to uninstall and reinstall
Outlook and the same
condition occurrs. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I am really need a resolution to this issue. I cannot get
my user online for her e-mail Any suggestions Greatly
Appreciated!!

Can you ping the Fully Qualified Name of the Server and does it resolve to
the correct IP address, i.e. do a ping -a name of server. If you do a
IPCONFIG /ALL on the user machine is the result expected. Is the user a
typical Domain User, can you log them onto another machine and will Outlook
configure correctly

Yes I can ping the server. I previously tried to setup the
user on another client and it worked.

Thanks,

If the ping is successful by FQDN can you log onto this machine and setup an
Outlook profile with say the Administrators login. Did the ipconfig display
the correct results
