Outlook always replies in the wrong version of English!

Sam Alexander

I have Outlook 2002 on Windows XP Pro and use Word as my
editor.
Every default I can find is set to using UK English, and
that is what happens when I write emails. However, when I
press 'reply' to emails the default always changes to US
English, even though most of my emails come from UK
colleagues. My colleagues say the same thing happens to
them. Is there any way we can stop this happening or
should we just give up and start spelling everything with
a 'z' instead of an 's'?!?

Wrong English ? Sounds like you have an intelligent version of Outlook that
is responding in the "right" English :-)
At least it does not change to French and add a "e" at the end of every
word..

I am doing most of this on memory as its been about a year since running
Outlook 2002 as I have been using Outlook 2003, so if any errors, please
forgive me !

A Couple of things that you might have checked already.
1. In Outlook, Tools, Options, Spelling. Do you have the UK selected as
the spell checker on outbound emails ?
2. Same of course with Word
3. Do you have the language Icon on in your bottom tray ? Does it change
to UK version or US Version
4. Not sure if this is in Outlook someplace, I thought that it was, but
do not see it at the moment, but OE has a option to reply in the same format
as the sender, I have had that change my speller (in OE), but not sure if
this is in Outlook. It sounds like it is doing the change actually in Word.
Is that correct ? What version of Word are you using ?
Well that's my 2 cents (er 2 pds..)
