Outlook address book

When attempting to find a contact in the address book, as
soon as the cursor is placed in the box, outlook stops
responding and shuts down. Can anybody help me with
ideas as to how to solve this problem?

The box for qick search on the actual toolbar, standard
view.
I did looked at the link you provided me with and it
didn't help.
My version of outlook is 2000

That is the only known solution for this problem and it applies to Outlook
2000. You have no more information such as error messages?
Have you tried any routine maintenance such as the Inbox Repair Tool and
running Detect and Repair?
