I may have duplicate address books but don't know how to
select or change them. This is similar to the recent post
below but I am still having problems. Let me explain.

I have installed Outlook 2003 over Outlook 2002 with
Office 2003 with Business Contact Manager in Win XP.

When I click "Open Shared Contacts" I get an error message
that says "The Address List Could not be Displayed. The
contact folder associated with this address list could not
be opened; it may have been moved or deleted, or you do
not have permissions..."

When I click "Okay" it takes me to a screen where on the
right side it has a drop down arrow that gives these
selections:

Outlook Address Book
Accounts
Accounts
Business Contacts
Business Contacts
Contacts
Contacts

If I select the first Contacts there is nothing there. If
I select the second Contacts it has my Contacts.

After reading the other post I went to Tools, Email
Accounts, View or Change existing accounts or address
books then pressed Next and then it said:

"The specified account was not found. It might have been
deleted"

I have no other options to add an address book or to
change address books as there are no choices in the next
screen. I could browse to add one but don't know where to
locate it.

I can use my Outlook just fine and my contacts are in
place but something seems to be duplicated or not selected
properly.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

books > Outlook Address Book > Change.

Russ,

Thanks for the reply. I have seen many of your helping
others including this one. But let me share with you what
happens when I do as you suggest. I get an error that says

"The Specified Account was not found. It might have been
deleted."

What do I do at this point?

Again my contacts work when I view them in Outlook.

Thanks

CJ

Additional info

When I click okay to that error it takes me to a page that
says "Directories and Address Books. You can choose a
directory or address book below to change or remore it"

There is nothing to choose from in the list below this.

If I click on Add, then I click on Additional Address
Books instead of LDAP I get this error

"The address or directory already exists and cannot be
specified twice"

If I go back and select Change instead of Add it tells me
to choose from the list below and there is nothing in the
list to choose from, its blank.

Hope this helps. Thanks much for your help.

The Outlook Address Book is not a folder or a file. It is merely a transport
service that permits your Contacts to be displayed in an address book
format. So you simply use the steps I posted to add the service, then tell
it which Contact Folder(s) to display.
The Outlook Address Book replaced the Personal Address Book years ago. There
is no need to use the PAB.
