Hi,

I'm deploying with group policy Office 2003 and I got a problem with Outlook. The Outlook address book is greyed out by default. Is there any way to enable the outlook address book during the full office installation?

Thanks, C.

If you're using the CIW to create an .mst file for your installataion that sets the default Outlook profile, make sure that profile includes the Outlook Address Book.

Address book enabled.

How exactly did you handle the Outlook profile? I've heard of something similar, but would need exact steps to reproduce.

if you want, I can email you the *.mst file?
let me know.

No, please. Just provide the steps you followed to build and deploy the profile.

I'm using Microsoft Office 2003 Custom Installation Wizard. I created an
*.mst file for complete Office 2003 installation. The file is very basic, I
selected all the the application in the step 7 of 24; the next change is in
the step 17 of 24 when you create a custom Outlook profile. then, configure
the server name, username and enable cached exchange mode in the 18 of 24.
Next step is "Customize additional Outlook profile and account information"
and I added Outlook Address Book.
After that, click on next until the end of the Wizard.

I added the MST file to the group policy to be deployed with Acive
Directory. It works very well, but it does not enable the Outlook address
book.

Is this helpful?? Let me know.

thanks.

What did you set in step 17 -- Use existing profile, modify profile, new profile, or apply prf?

Is this a new Office installation or an upgrade?

this is a new installation and creste a new profile.
