We have recently switched to Windows XP and Office 2003 at our office. I was
coverted back in August. But recently have noticed that Outlook is accepting
appointments to my calendar automatically when they come to my inbox. I do
handle resources such as conference rooms and have the option in Calendar
under Resource Scheduling checked to allow automatic acceptance for the
rooms. It never happened with Outlook 2000. I've always used that option so
conference rooms can get booked by those I have given permissions to when
they include the room (as a resource) in their meeting requests. Is this now
affecting my personal calendar as well? Many other folks in our office are
having this same issue and our IT folks are still researching and playing
with it. Can anyone out there help? THANKS!!

Yes, this is affecting your personal calendar as well.
The auto-accept option (from what MS tells me) is really
intended for just resources. Because a resource is (from
what I understand) just another user in Exchange, you see
the option there as a user. I think you can create a
profile for the resource and select that option and then
de-select it from your personal one.

The "auto-accept" option you have turned on is accepting
your personal meetings. That option is really meant for
resources and not users, but, users can see this option
and utilize it. Resources are really just like any other
user in Exchange, that is why the option appears.

I believe you should be able to create an Outlook profile
for the resource and select the auto-accept option. Then,
go into your own profile and de-select it.

Hope this helps
