Outlook 98 hangs during opening

No error message. Just hangs with the hourglass blinking after th
first few elements of the screen have been displayed

Tried deleting outcmd.dat. Didn't solve the problem

Tried scanpst.exe. Didn't solve the problem

I was able to start from a backup .pst file, but would like to ge
access to the intevening two week's data if possible

Use File>Open>Personal Folders File and browse to the place where you have
the newer PST. Select it and Click Open (or OK - I don't remember which it
is in that version). You should now have access to the data in that PST.
