Hi,

I have outlook 97 on win98. I'm going to get Office Pro 2003 that
has Outlook 2003 and put it on a computer that has XP.
I'll also get a new IPAQ, since the 1910 does not
work with the activesync that goes with the outlook that works on XP.

Will I be able to transfer the outlook 97 files to outlook 2003 and
then
sync up with a new IPAQ? I just want to get a grasp of any potential
problems before I go buying a bunch of software/hardware.
The reason I'm targeting Office 2003 is because its very inexpensive
right now.

thx!

Yes, Outlook 97 PST/PAB files can be used under Outlook 2003. Word of
advice since you didn't say how you where going to move the files from old
to new, if planning on moving by burning to cd/dvd, make sure you burn at a
speed of 4x or less. This way the data files don't corrupt between
machines.

Older versions of ActiveSync should work on XP. I believe I've used 3.6
through 4.5 on XP.

You should be able to do this. Make a copy of the PST as well so that if
the new sync doesn't work as expected, you don't lose anything.
