Here is the ordeal
Office has 3 computers, all running Win2KPro and Office2KPro. All connect via a RoadRunner broadband connection shared through a Linksys router. One machine has a problem. This pc can open Outlook, send and receive no problem. After about an hour or so (sitting idle or not, doesn't matter) it will no longer connect when Send.Receive is pressed. It will not connect at all until you LogOut of Windows and back in. It works fine again for a short period of time
This Outlook is configured to not send or receive until manually initiated. It is only using one email account. I have tried to create a new Windows profile, create a new Outlook PST file, reinstalled Outlook, Reinstalled Office2KPro, Archived and compacted the existing PST file
Nothing seems to cure the machine. What is very strange is that when Outlook is spinning trying to connect to the mail servers, I can open a command prompt and ping them. I can even open OE and send/receive no problem! All the while Outlook is STILL spinning trying to connect
If you leave Outlook alone for an hour it never times out or gives any type of error messages either
I am going to initiate error logging that I discovered at (MS KB Article 240347) so I cam hopefully see something break. HELP
