Outlook 2010 calendar and mouse rollover preview

Hi,

with Outlook 2007 I could see a preview of an appointment's text just
by placing the mouse upon it. With 2010 it does not work, I only get
to see the start and end times. Is that normal?

Are you using a view that include preview? (Or the Preview view)
Check File, Options, Calendar - at the bottom, do you have tooltips
enabled?
