Outlook 2008, Win 7 Pro, IE 8

Outlook periodically stops responding. I have it stand-alone. It has 1-pop3
and 1-IMAP account. When I close it, the services usually don't shut down.
I've waited up to 10 minutes to let them shut down - which they didn't. Any
ideas?

Well firstly, is Outlook 2008 a typo, because there ain't no such thing....

Are you sure you don't mean Outlook 2007?

Likely something is holding Outlook open. The usual culprits are synching to
a hand held, FAX software, antivirus software, Skype, etc. Read the

Got any addins running? Sync tools and other apps that access outlook data
is the usual cause.
