Every time I open Outlook I get a balloon in the bottom right stating that a
data file was not closed properly the last time it was used and windows is
doing data file check that may affect the programs performance. I never had
this before until I started using Vista Home Premium and Office Enterprise
2007. I have been using outlook for 7 years and this has never occurred
before in XP. Anyone know what's up? And now we have to PAY for tech
support!???

Same for me. I installed the "TopProcess.gadget" so I could see when Outlook
as a running process is done closing things up. I've been able to avoid the
data file check issue on Outlook start by waiting until I don't see Outlook
listed in the process list before closing my aircard connection (I'm on an
Exchange server), or shutting down the PC. Takes less than 10 to 15 seconds.
It'll be interesting to see if SP1 resolves any of this.
