I am using Outlook 2007, my ISP is bellsouth.net. I can receive email, but
cannot send email through OUTLOOK. I get an error that says "authentication
methods by this client are not supported by server." Bellsouth says my
settings are ok and if I can receive email, then I am connecting. Anyone
know of a fix?

I do not have Office 2003 loaded on this computer. OFFICE ENTERPRISE 2007 is
the only one installed.

What settings for outgoing authentication are you using?

I cannot find anything that says "authentication settings" - so I guess I
don't know what the settings are. I used the CD from Bellsouth to set up the
program. The outgoing server is mail.bellsouth.net which is correct according
to bellsouth. Can you tell me how to check these settings?

thanks
jon

Open the email account's properties and examine the "Outgoing Server" tab.
