Outlook 2007 & Winrar

Hi,
I just installed Winrar 3.62 in Vista RTM with Outlook 2007 in it also.
Now whenever I right click something and get the dialog "compress and
email" or "compress to untitled.rar and e-mail" nothing happens.
I looked it up at Winrar and faq over there said that the e-mail has to
support MAPI???? I'm not sure what any of this means, but it does nothing at
all, not even open Outlook to send e-mails. My friend said it works fine for
her, Vista RTM, Outlook 2007, and Winrar 3.62. Hmm, nothing happens when I
try to compress and e-mail anything.
Any help?

Sounds like a question for WinRAR. I suggest you ask them about this and
Outlook 2007 support.

You've been helpful with me before, and I thought maybe I was missing
something in Outlook 2007, like an option that needed checked.
I thought maybe someone in here might have ran into the same issue.
had to double check, yup this is an Outlook ng.
I may be wrong on this, but; wouldn't this Outlook ng be considered Outlook
2007 support?

Milly,

It applies to Outlook,
so if ya have any suggestions that may be useful; i.e.,
a preference, a box, a setting that I may have missed in Outlook,
that would be helpful
so I guess you all are saying it's not an Outlook issue?
possibly,and very probably it is a Winrar issue,
but I thought I might check in the Outlook ng,
to see if someone else may have had this issue, and if they got it resolved.

Did e-mail Winrar about it also.

Guess you guys are correct about one thing,

found this in my searches,
*** Starting First Run (12-16-2006 10:14:14) ***
....HrPreSplashFirstRun called.
....HrPreLogFirstRun called.
....HrPostLogFirstRun called.
....deleting WAB4/UseOutlook because we're using MAPI.
....writing UUID to HKCU.
....setting Primary Client to Outlook.
*** Ending First Run (12-16-2006 10:14:16) ***

so that says Outlook does use MAPI,
which I assume means, Mail API

so yup;
guess it is a WinRar issue

Found it!!!
yup, you guys were correct!
Winrar bug, not Outlook.
my bad,
reinstalled Winrar 3.61 (older build)
working great

I don't have a problem, that I know of, but I do have a folder "Outlook Logging" in my Temp folder.

In this folder is the text file "firstrun.log", with the same entry as others get. Is this Folder / File created by WinRar for some reason?

Logging is not enabled in Outlook (Options> Other> Advanced Options). I'm running Outlook 2003.

I did, however, recently install WinRar 3.62, as you did.

I empty the Temp Folder, but the Folder and File are recreated, even though I've not used WinRar since deleting them.

Actually, I suppose I ought to follow the advice here, and visit the WinRar forums.

I just thought i'd add to the evidence .
