I have followed the directions and tried to show this folder as an email
address book but it is grayed out and wont allow me to select it. I decided
it would be better
to just start over and do a new contacts folder, it wont allow it, I even
tried to delete it and it wont allow that either. I had the Fire Dog people
reload the software and reimport my files as well.... Any suggestions?

That's the problem - importing. I suggest you don't let "Fire Dog" (whoever
they are) NEAR your computer if that's what they do.
Create a new mail profile - (Control Panel-Mail-Show Profiles-Add) and
attach the existing pst file to it. See if that helps.

I'm having the exact problem and followed all the instructions listed under
Microsofts article Q197577 and still no luck. Desperation is setting in. Any
soultions?

I am runing Vista 62bit SP2

Can't really help. You posted no information. Quoting an article number
tells us nothing. State precisely which steps you followed. Make sure you
also specify how you created your new Outlook profile and how you migrated
data to it.

I do not have a "mail" under control panel in my computer. I am running
Vista, outlook 2007 and service pack 1. Someone decided that it would be
better to hide files so the user can't find them so I have no idea where my
..pst file is to attach. This is very frustrating...thanks for your help.

Its funny you said that, I thought of that too and I did change the view to
classic, hence the comment about hiding file in vista. I still do not have a
mail icon, I go from keyboard to mouse. I wish I could send an image to
prove it to you... I have asked smart people, dumb people...walked away,
rethought the problem and the only answer I can come with is that this is a
glich with the program. This is a discount program that I have been issued
through work from microsoft... what about a fix...there seems to be a lot of
conversation about my problem>?
