I have Outlook 2007 running on Vista - I added another POP3 email account and
suddenly contacts can no longer be selected by use of the "To" button on a
new email. Have tried the new profile trick, Outlook still opens the faulty
profile and will not allow me to select new profile!!!

All of the Microsoft KBs do not seem to address this (Outlook 2007 and
Vista) - I am a hair's breadth away from de/reinstall.

Can anyone help - PLEASE!

Thanks

Have you tried what we suggested before? You haven't created a new profile
correctly if Outlook is still opening the old one, have you? We can't tell
what you're doing wrong when you don't tell us what you're doing.

Yes, I have tried creating new profiles (I had to create one before
for another apparently Vista related problem, so I now have 3). I now
have:

* Outlook
* New and
* NewNew

- but even when I then set to "Prompt for a profile to be used",
Outlook uses New without any interaction or prompt. This is after a
full restart too.

Thanks

Chris

That was correct.... the application dissapears from the application list,
but the Outlook process remained running.

I will now progress the fix and report back. In the meantime, any ideas why
Outlook might not be exiting cleanly? Thanks!

Verify Outlook is exiting completely. It sounds like it isn't.
