Outlook 2007 performance

Is it just an accepted fact that Outlook 2007 is slower than Outlook 2003?
I have a relatively new machine running xp pro with 4G ram duo core but
outlook 2007 takes about 15-17 seconds to open to my inbox. I have done the
usual check for RSS and add ins. Once Outlook is openned it works fine its
just the openning of the program. Any suggestions are welcomed
 
Startup wise OL2007 does seem a bit slower than OL2003 on startup. The rest
of the performance seems similar though
